Cold front gradually works its way south and east today across the state It will likely spark spotty showers/storms, especially this afternoon/evening across South Central KS. Probably some pretty good gaps in the line, so cross your fingers if you are wanting some moisture!

A stray shower possible early today north with Southern Kansas remaining dry. We will be turning a bit warmer with more wind today. Tomorrow a sprinkle or two possible north of I-70 with temps around 90° for most of the state. Overall, looking mostly dry this week. #KSwx

Last night, I had the honor of receiving the 2024 Friend of Agriculture Award from the Butler County Kansas Farm Bureau . It was a great chance to catch up with some friends, talk about what Ag has taught me & of course we talked about weather.

Temperatures will be about the same today with highs in the 80s and 90s. Fire Danger will be high again today across Western Kansas with wind gusts that could top 40mph. We do have some rain chances in the forecast, but overall totals are still looking slim. #KSwx

Chance of getting a tropical system to drop rain in Kansas is very rare! Interestingly, the Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900 tracked over the state... that storm, killed an estimated 8,000 people! Link:coast.noaa.gov/hurricanes/
