Seeing a lot of moderate folks talking about the rich bigots in the news as if they are behaving the way they are due to mental illness or they are having a very public mental breakdown. This is a way of excusing them IMHO. 1/2

Yes, because 5 minutes after funding is passed the infrastructure of an entire nation that has been crumbling for 50 years is all repaired and replaced overnight. This truly is a thoroughly dumbed-downed party.

The corporate takeover of American politics is utterly out of control. How did it get so bad? It all started with a man and memo you’ve probably never heard of.

In 2022, stock buyback announcements from major corporations hit a record $1.2 trillion. That's $1.2 trillion straight into the pockets of shareholders instead of workers' wages or research & development. There’s a reason why stock buybacks were illegal before 1982.

Rep. George Santos, who fabricated much of his life story but has defiantly resisted public pressure to leave, embodies a new reality: shame is no longer a powerful force in American politics. n.pr/3KrjCuR

A GOP bill Oversight Dems considered last week would censor public servants and weaken content disclaimers, ironically under the guise of free speech. I wrote an amendment to protect scientists and health officials communicating with the public. Committee Republicans rejected it.

When Johnson & Johnson used a slimy legal maneuver to try to skirt responsibility for its cancer-causing talc powder, I called out its corporate abuse. Now, J&J is offering to pay $8.9 billion, but refuses to admit any wrongdoing. I call BS. Families deserve justice.

Justice Thomas should be held accountable for violating federal disclosure law, but that's not enough. We should ban justices from taking lavish, donor-funded vacations in the first place. Congress must strengthen the judicial code of ethics and other anti-corruption safeguards.
