A fantastic phenotype that we discovered by accident after imaging hundreds of different Organoids! I could not find normal ventricle-like structures on #YY1-mutated #Organoids! Great potential on the use of #human 3D systems to recapitulate #human clinical features!

The combination of complex human in vitro systems and single cell resolution have allowed us to dissect cell-type specific dysfunctions caused by YY1 mutations. At Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology I learned to navigate towards a paradigm that transcends a neuron-centric view, and study #Astrocytes too 🧠
