Today the children enjoyed tasting a variety of dishes from different cultures, whilst discussing what they liked and disliked. Dexter said “I liked it (quiche) ‘coz it was well creamy”. Aris said “My favourite was the pasta (spaghetti bolognaise) because I can suck it up”.

First day back and we’re already excited. A few animals have left some footprints in our classroom. The children enjoyed exploring and discussing what animals may have left the prints and why we thought that. FoxfieldPrimary

This term we’re learning about the importance of bees. This week the children are ‘buzzing’ with excitement engaging in their immersive environment. Labelling a bees body, using fine motor skills to move ‘pollen’ into the ‘hive’ and getting creative making their own bees.

Today we talked about how bees help with pollination. We experimented using glitter and watched how it was transferred from one flower to another. We also looked at where the pollen can be found on a real flower. Zaida said “I’m a bee, I moved the pollen to different flowers”

We have explored weight. We made predictions on what objects would weigh the heaviest and the lightest. We then used the scales to identify which objects were heavier and which were lighter. We found that the toy tiger was the lightest and that brick was the heaviest.

As we begin to innovate the middle part of the 3 little pigs story. We explored different materials that we could use to adapt our story. Ava said “The suger cubes are hard they would make a strong house”. Aris said “The feathers are weak. The wolf could blow them away”.

Check out our summer outcome with a focus on film and fairy tales. We chose ‘The 3 little pigs’ as our core text and used the story to discuss and describe the role of a villain. For our artwork we used construction techniques to build each house.
