This tiny bean (baby barred owl) was found on the ground, chilled and dehydrated. After supportive care, it is doing much better and the nest cavity will be sought by climbers today. Hopefully renesting can happen quickly!

The baby owl has been renested just under the original site. Both parents (very angry at our presence) are in attendance. Many thanks to local volunteers who helped me get this little owl back home, they are amazing!

Great horned owlets often leave the nest weeks before they can fly, so people think they are orphaned when they are not. This chick, however, is too young to be out of the nest and did need aid. If you find an owl on the ground, contact a licensed local rehabber for advice!

Things here have been absolutely nuts; for weeks I've been mailing out 100+ packages a day, working through Kickstarter pin fulfillment. A slew of other time sensitive spring projects + a flood of injured owls have been keeping me beyond busy!

Been busy like crazy, and have been taking in multiple very waterlogged birds from our big, heavy sleet/rain/snowstorm that's been going strong for a few days. Poor things, this sort of weather is really hard in the best of circumstances!

Been a crazy busy few weeks; multiple work conferences, gave a presentation at a local high school today, and been in a sea of assembling/sorting/packing pendants/earrings/pins as the Visionary Vultures 3 items just arrived!! So excited for these to start arriving to people!

It's conference time again!
I'm happy to be attending the National Wildlife Rehab Association symposium, excited to learn from a lot of amazing folks this week!

The emus are being extremely helpful with cleaning tasks today. (By helpful I mean being an extreme nuisance, getting constantly the way, stealing my cleaning brushes, making more of a mess, and constantly critiquing my work.)
