The Tigers had lofty expectations entering the 1990 season, fresh off an SEC Championship in ’89. On this day 30 years ago, LSU met those expectations and took Texas down to advance to the program's first NCAA Women's Volleyball Final Four!

We had the opportunity to spotlight USL League Two newcomers LA Parish Athletic Club at their first-ever home game where a couple hundred Baton Rouge residents came out to mark the historic moment.

With family and friends checking tickets and selling shirts under the concrete stands of Olympia Stadium, it was the purest form of local, community soccer you will find.

Dozens of fans walked in wearing Premier League jerseys and walked out with black and white LA Parish Athletic Club shirts and hats.

It was another reminder that soccer supporters are everywhere. And while Baton Rouge may always be known as a destination for college sports, LA Parish Athletic Club is filling that summer void by bringing soccer to the city.
