Arrived at Cowpen Marsh tonight to find the Pacific Golden Plover was again at Holme Fleet. Difficult to get decent photos in windy conditions. 4th photo from Sunday night. It soon flew off back towards Greatham Creek Screen area. teesbirds

62 Black-tailed Godwit between Saltholme West and Back Salt this morning. Presumably all islandica but this bird was less deep Orange than all the others, upperparts less cluttered than the others but fringing prob too rusty for limosa? Birds always very distant…teesbirds

Humpback Whale off North Gare this morning. Sorry for the terrible photos but it’s the best I got! Watched leaving the river mouth and heading off out to sea! Quite impressive! The views from South Gare must have been way better! Hopefully others got better pics? teesbirds

A short walk on the outskirts of Middlesbrough today produced 12 species of Butterfly! Best of all though was the sight of three Hummingbird Hawk-moths feeding on one Buddleia! Quite a good year for them I understand! teesbirds Tees Wildlife
