The star of the photo is a beautifully preserved specimen of #Rhizocorallium , a U-shaped trace fossil.
The Runswick Bay bed in which it is found represents one of the last gasps of seafloor life before global warming and oceanic anoxia caused an Early Jurassic extinction event.
