Today starts “The Contribution of Cyber in Hybrid Conflict” course which Hybrid CoE is organizing together with European Defence Agency under the European Security & Defence College. The course educates 41 participants from 19 EU and NATO countries on #cyber defence and #hybrid threats.

Instruments of Darkness is the decision-making exercise on "The Contribution of Cyber in Hybrid Conflict" course focusing on #cyber defence and #hybrid threats. The exercise engages participants in a multi-turn adversarial contest and in a high-level abstracted synthetic context.

Just started the 5th Cyber Power Symposium on Hybrid Conflict/Warfare: ’The cyber and hybrid aspects of cognitive warfare/superiority’. A key takesway from last year’s symposium: As a consequence of hybrid influencing the cognitive domain has to be included in analyzing warfare.

This year’s symposium is organized for the first time together with European Defence Agency. Thank you for cooperation already at this stage!

1⃣st panel discussed countering cognitive warfare. What's the cyber-information influence nexus and how can it be operated within? 🇦🇹🇦🇺🇨🇦🇺🇸 cases were discussed. State actors have the ability to achieve cognitive superiority, by regulation and laws or by educational empowerment.

Hybrid CoE has the pleasure of supporting the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training CEPOL this week in providing 30 #LawEnforcement officers from Moldova and Ukraine with training on hybrid threats, more specifically, on cyber resilience and deterrence.

Our panel at CYDEF discussed the relationship between #hybridwarfare and cognitive threats from a #cyberdefence perspective. Panelists Sascha-Dov Bachmann, Stephanie Carvin, Gazmend Huskaj and MG Yoshiki Adachi shed light on regional nuances and best practices. Thank you all!

Hybrid CoE’s #cyber expert Josef Schroefl had the pleasure of giving a keynote speech at #Securithon 2024. His main message was that the accelerating progress of new technologies like #AI, and machine and deep learning produce effects in all security and defense domains.

The first panel during the 6th Cyber Power Symposium focused on knowledge-based technologies in #cyberspace. Panelist Martti Lehto from University of Jyväskylä stressed the importance of building societal resilience against #hybridthreats and cognitive warfare operations.

In the session 2 “International law and knowledge-based technologies of the Cyber symposium Bianca Lins discussed the Legal and strategic approaches to AI-enhanced threats in critical infrastructure.

Prof Nebile Pelin Manti from the University of Istanbul discussed the legal landscape of countering hybrid threats in space in the 6th Cyber Power symposium of Hybrid CoE today.

“Awareness, #Resilience and active policy measures by all states are needed to defend Europe against #HybridThreats,” said Hybrid CoE’s Josef Schroefl, in a keynote speech at the meeting of Parliamentary Presidents in the Austerlitz+ format in Salzburg.
