2 points about this timely BBC News item. 1) "The experts say they "struggled to find evidence" that Ofsted had reflected on its own responsibilities." Ofsted: "inspections were carried out professionally and sensitively..." Disconnect with reality? 1/2 bbc.co.uk/news/education…

This week will consist of 3 sports days! So today in our collective worship we reflected on the lessons we can learn from the 2016 Olympics #compassion #kindness #goodsport youtu.be/dCVlRFWOjgE

The 23 SATS Reading Paper was totally illsuited to a 60 minute test condition- with a marking scheme that far too pedantic. A view expressed - based on research and analysis- in a polite and constructive manner. Tiff Harris Kerry Forrester x.com/tes/status/167…

It’s #SATs results day! Whatever the result, remember that a SATs score does not define children, or their future. Share our film as a reminder.

For the first time since 2019 today’s KS2 SATs results will be published in a format that can be easily manipulated into crude league tables to rank schools using a single metric. Headlines like the one below are damaging, and do not help schools or parents. NAHT

Read this to fully understand- in her owns words what #ruthperry went through. These notes were found by her sister Julia Waters after her sister’s death. Warning this is powerful & distressing because it is so directly from Ruth Perry’s own thoughts bbc.co.uk/news/education…

Rarely am I incandescent, rarely do I use bad language on here, but: ‘What the absolute f***? As an organisation Ofsted is there any humanity in you? Stick your one day training where the sun does not shine. Leadership of your organisation is not fit for purpose. #RuthPerry

‘OFSTED have been in today and reduced all the staff to tears. I can’t bear it. I can’t say anything publicly for obvious reasons but I’ve never seen OFSTED from this side. As Governors we were treated with rudeness, shut down and the inspector clearly had an agenda’

"Ofsted is now associated with harm to school leaders," says Paul Whiteman on BBC Newsnight last night, discussing #RuthPerry. "We've been disappointed in the response of Ofsted to these tragic circumstances - it has been very clear for over 5 years that things need to change."

Since the new Ofsted framework was introduced NAHT have campaigned for reform. At our annual conference I spoke about the unacceptable collateral damage the current framework was having on School Leaders physical and mental health and the direct action we can take.
