Think I just found some #WesternGallRust on #PonderosaPine in my front yard! As a #ForestPathologist I'm super excited! As a homeowner, not so excited. However, it's helping me learn #ForestDiseases in the West! #CronartiumHarknessii

With all of the stress and concern these days, it's comforting to get some good news. One of our manuscripts on #CaliciopsisCanker and #TreeRings is finally published and available online. Excited to see this work make it out, and work with a great team! doi.org/10.3390/f11030…

If anyone needs a little lightness to their day, this 1940s #ForestDisease report made my day. #HorrorMovie meets #ForestHealth in this report. Now if all literature could be so engaging and informative!

When I can't be out in the field, I can still search the neighborhood for #PlantDiseases. Found some great #BacterialCanker on #Cherry this afternoon. Spring's the perfect time to find it, when fresh gumming occurs! #WFH #Pseudomonas

Had the opportunity to see my first cone cutter in action this week. It may be a pretty simple tool (old butcher knife screwed into a chopping block), but it would have been a huge help when I taught Plant Structure and Development! #PlantBiology #PinusPonderosa

Great day in the field yesterday finding some #WesternTreeDiseases. Love the diversity in appearance of these #PhaeolusSchweinitzii fruiting bodies!

As a woman who participated in a very supportive women's group during grad school, I can definitely say that these friendships and support from fellow women in academia were critical to my continuation and success. So excited to see more research into this concept!

This fall we've been a little (or a lot) homesick for New England and Atlantic Canada. It's not Maine #FallFoliage, but Montana's trying hard to impress us! #WesternLarch #ConiferForests of the West.

PhD student position in forest management and bark beetle defense in my lab at WA State U! Use tree-ring resin duct metrics to quantify defense over the life of trees to explore tradeoffs with growth. Focus on SE loblolly pine, also work in NW,SW forests henrydadams.com/join_us.html

Past year = new job, new state, and new responsibilities. I enjoy what I do, but really miss teaching. I recently served as an instructor in a #ContinuingEd program, and was told "the plant disease section was FASCINATING!" #PlantDisease and #AltAc teaching for the win!

Please don't comment how "warm" is actually a great thing to say about a candidate "regardless of gender." Nothing wrong with being warm (or helpful, caring, etc.); being warm/caring/helpful is great! The issue is the opportunity costs of stating it within a reference letter.

After studying ash for years, these trees are still my fall favorites! Some of the last to leaf out in spring, and some of the first to change color in the fall. #FraxinusAmericana #FallFoliage
