Composers, what's a question you dread being asked? Mine is "what is your favourite instrument to write for?" – which for me is like asking a writer what their favourite letter is... (Comes up annoyingly often, too!)

When I hear a composer, artist, writer, etc, talk about their work, what makes me want to hear/see/read it is when I get a sense of their *personal* conviction in creating it. Not what they think they are doing for others, or for some cause. Do others feel the same way, or not?

Composer and Conductors. I've been TOLD by a Symphony orchestra that all conductors like to have a transposing score rather than a score in C. In the past I have done both, but I tend to do scores in C. What's your experience or take on this??

Not exaggerating when I say I've been on a couple of shortlists per month for over a year now and none of them have come to fruition. Advice please for composers who have 'emerged-ish' because I'm too experienced for the schemes, but aren't trusted with the big boy projects yet!
