This is serious. Cost of federal debt tracks interest rate expectations, hence inflation. You can’t get much more directly inflationary than a giant plan to produce the same thing (electricity) at much higher overall prices. Which is our government’s electricity plan.

Hang on… AEMO just said this coal plant will close in 8 years, according to the draft ISP. Who should we believe? The market operator? Or the people paying billions to acquire the asset, who say it’s important for quite a while?

Ok… so even with over a billion in annual subsidies, battery EV sales seem to have levelled out at just under 10% of new car sales in Aus. Similar in the US. The draft ISP from AEMO has dropped their EV share assumption for 2050 from 97% to 80%. It was 99% in 2022.

I’m afraid this is not a great look for NSW Police Force. I hate to be critical so soon, especially since it’s possible some have made the ultimate sacrifice. But some equipment and training for active shooters is clearly lacking. The guy with the rifle is essentially unmolestered as
