If you are working in distributed computing and need to build / be motivated on the usage of distributed computing - just make sure you are aware of Folding@home Fold is a brilliant concept which caught a lot of attention during the covid19 phase. Mainly for protein folding.

Thanks to everyone Folding@home for helping generate this! For reference, a good paper in our field may have 10 microseconds of data. So 2.1 milliseconds of data is like having 210 papers worth of data. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Data organization is up to 17 milliseconds of simulations, taking 22 TB on disk, and still just getting startedš #compchem Folding@home

Congratulations to Susanna Susanna Barrett from Mitchell group Chemistry at Illinois and Song from Shukla Group ChBE Illinois for their work on understanding how enzymes tie the lasso knot in peptides published in Nature Chemical Biology Nature Chemical Biology! igb.illinois.edu/article/researā¦
