Very interesting to discover the similarities between England and the Netherlands on issues around sibling placement in care during an inspirational workshop with @HetNJi De NVP @Jeugdzorgned, foster youth, foster parents, practitioners, behavioural scientists, and academics!

Proud to host a 2-day writing & wellbeing retreat this week for 14 students who are all parents or carers, thanks to funding from @SWDTP. After 2 action-packed days of writing, walking, eating, sauna, yoga and even a dip in the sea, we left with new motivation and new friends :)

Just chaired a thought-provoking panel on children and young people with disabilities/SEN. Across countries and contexts, all presenters emphasized the crucial need to enhance efforts that encourage these children to express their views both in practice and research.#ICFC2025

Enjoyed some fascinating panel sessions today #ICFC2025. Wide-ranging research based in Africa, Brazil, Kerala, Norway and England introduced me to the varied experiences of children and young people who show such strength in marginalised circumstances.

Another fantastic day at the #ICFC2025 International Child and Family Conference. Thanks to our keynote speaker James Bury from CoramBAAF for his powerful overview of the care system landscape in England, and to all our speakers & panellists for such thought-provoking sessions.

What an inspiring keynote by Professor Tatek Abebe on the last day of #ICFC2025. A passionate and powerful journey through children as commons and commoners, collective existence, and communing care. We also experienced moving music activism for regenerative futures.

As the 1st #ICFC2025 International Child and Family Conference comes to an end at University of Bristol, we would like thank all our speakers, panellists & attendees for making it such a fantastic event. It has been a great opportunity to connect, reflect and collaborate. Thank you all!
