Had a blast presenting at #AusEvo2023 in captivating Adelaide today! My first one and hopefully not the last. Sharing the initial results of my fellowship in Australia among many other amazing talks was a rewarding experience. Australasian Evolution Society

Feeling grateful and relieved after 5 weeks of intense fieldwork in the Northern Territory! I’ll miss the country vibes, the wildlife, the parks, and the team at the field station. Back to Sydney with a buuunch of samples and can’t wait to see what comes next!

Cane toads are definitely not Australia’s favorite animal, but their high invasive potential is amazing to study genetics, evolution, and adaptation. Or at least that’s what I tried to sell at #GSA2024 this week. Do you think they bought it?

Could you boil down your PhD thesis to a one-minute speech? Well, I accepted the challenge by UNSW Science and was very honored to be awarded with the best presentation of UNSW Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences! Wonderful event and such a fun way to get to know what other people are studying.

If you’re in Borneo for WCH10, stop by Great Hall C at 3:15pm for a half-an-hour speech on toad immunity, as I will be presenting my two talks back to back in a row! 🐸🧬🇲🇾

So happy to announce that I was awarded a Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment grant from Ecological Society of Australia to fund my research on immune traits of invasive cane toads in Australia. Thanks to my supervisor Lee Rollins and Dr. Bill Holsworth for the support to my PhD research!
