A rather long sabbatical from twitter. Will be using twitter as an external dialogue, any thoughts, processes, creative moments & insights into brand.

I understand it’s not for everyone. There’s a big push on mental health & a work-life balance. But you need to realise sometimes the best thing for your mental health IS putting the work in, working the late hours for your passion, your dream. Remember your WHY.

AW23 Styling Ideation Shirt collar styled up with a bandana/neck tie round it. FB made cummerbunds wrapped round blazers / overcoats. Full tonal sets with overcoat & suit all made in the same heavy overcoating fabric.

Young business is ugly. Instagram perception is cute lunch dates, working out twice a day & optimal sleep. Reality is 16 hour days, prioritising work over life & sub 6 hour sleep for sustained periods. Competition is high, standards are even higher.

Scary times for our industry. The knock on effect from what’s been happening at large retailers such as Net A Porter, Farfetch & Matches are rippling through the industry.

Retailers going into sale this early (some as early as March) has forced every high end brand into sale super early. Once one domino falls the rest follows, I’m not sure there is a brand that isn’t in sale yet?

These problems will stem back all the way to COVID and inflated growth figures when the industry was at its height. When the market doesn’t have the same demand but your operating costs and stock holdings are high, worsened when you are a big company who can’t pivot quickly.

Hence why you see what was once absolute giants fall quickly into administration. Thankfully, as an independent smaller brand we can pivot quickly, also being made in the UK it means we don’t have 6-12 month commitments and lead times.

In what has been and will continue to be a rough year for the industry, now more than ever I have been thankful for the position we are in as a brand.
