Confusion at the IPO - Dept promised weekend emergency accommodation to unaccommodated asylum seekers for #StormKathleen - we spoke to those who didn't get the emailed offer - and 2 who did but who were turned away because their name wasn't on the list

Not all rough sleeping asylum seekers at IPO got offers of temporary accommodation for #StormKathleen - only those on a priority IPAS accommodation list are being emailed offers of spaces in military tents for 3 nights. This evening I met some who got an email but more who didn’t
In response to Storm Kathleen & potential extreme weather over the weekend Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth said it will provide “an offer of temporary shelter” for unaccommodated asylum seekers who are “actively rough sleeping… for the duration of the extreme weather event.”
1529 asylum seekers are currently without State provided accommodation according to today’s Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth figures. It passed 1,500 on Good Friday (1517) - 40 new asylum seekers presented since then - 6 were offered accommodation after triage. 22 unaccommodated were offered a space too.
Yesterday the number of International Protection applicants without state provided accommodation reached 1399, according to the latest Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth figures.

The men who were rough sleeping in tents around Mount Street have been moved to a location in Saggart where they will once again live in tents. Concerns have been raised by Irish Refugee Council Jennifer Whitmore TD Brid Smith TD and others that this is just moving them out of sight.

The number of unaccommodated asylum seekers has passed 1,300 - new Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth figures show 1308 are now without any State provided shelter. 40 who were previously homeless were offered a place since last Friday.
1,272 male International Protection applicants are now without State provided shelter - an increase of 113 since Tuesday according to the latest Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth figures.
A wet & windy night - served 400 meals Tiglin today & our walking teams gave out 12 x sleeping bags
15 x Emergency blankets
40 x Tents.
