I just read Mark Lawrence short story for our 10th anniversary edition (Oct 24) and it is pure bliss. He was the cover story for our first ever issue—actually the first ever author to say “yes” to one of my pitches—so this just feels right!

You're an author, but what's your degree in? Well, I never quite got around to finishing my philosophy degree because I discovered drugs and booze and music. And so, of course, my characters twist reality with their hallucinations, and my book covers look like metal albums.

Eight years after my first self-published release, and Kindle Direct Publishing's formatting for Amazon descriptions still hasn't improved. First image is the formatting I want (done in correct HTML). The second is what I actually get on the product page. PLEASE fix this outdated crap.

I think I've earned a lovely Christmas present this year. I'm torn between a Damascus sword and a DIY 7-string guitar kit. The first is (mostly) decorative. The 2nd will see a lot of use (assuming I don't botch it). Oh yeah. Please buy my books so I can actually do this.
