TL;DR: The promise of PaaS has been overshadowed by complex Kubernetes ecosystems. We've traded simplicity for flexibility, often at the cost of developer productivity. It's time to reassess our approach to building platforms and prioritize developer experience once again. /1

We inadvertently killed a generation of developer productivity. The promise of Kubernetes was to simplify and streamline, not to create more complexity. Yet here we are, with teams spending months wrestling with yaml and integrations. /4

This situation reminds me of the core principles behind Cloud Foundry: simplicity, productivity, and focus on application logic rather than infrastructure. Have we regressed? Are we overthinking what should be straightforward? /7

This is an amazing achievement. One parser to unify them all, in order to avoid duplicated work. And a correct Ruby parser is no small feat, it's >40k SLOC of C when including everything (encodings, serialization, etc)! Prism is now used by 5+ Ruby implementations and 10+ tools
