In this experiment Dr Rob Thompson from the University of Reading shows how long it takes a cup of water to soak into parched ground. This is why heavy rainfall after a drought can be really dangerous & might lead to flash flooding

The Terminator's robotic appearance was achieved using practical effects, including animatronics, puppetry, and stop-motion animation created by special effects legend Stan Winston.

The film used minimal digital effects, as CGI technology was still in its early stages.
