After significant amounts of number and text crunching through medical research, the AI I am developing has found the best way to protect humans from infection: youtube.com/watch?v=SyFF56…

Quite disgusted by current Greek chess scandal, unheard of even by Greek standards: current right-wing chessfed prez Stathis Efstathopoulos joined left-wing Makropoulos to oust GM Thanos Mastrovasilis, national coach, because the fed approved a team composition without wife Marina Makropoulou

Mystified by the bullet portion of Nihal Sarin vs Alexander Grischuk , true, an old-timer like Sasha is going to be 20 seconds too slow against a cyber-native in bullet, but there are Candidate Masters who would have brought home some of those points from Sasha's winning positions.

I'm clearly not cut out for the chess world championship, not only did the combatants not laugh when they were called "the very top of human brain power", they didn't even raise an eyebrow.

today's endgame brings Anish Giri to mind, when he said "of course Magnus is so accurate, he gets positions where all his moves are good". Tablebases show that almost any Ian move draws, but, and it's a huge but, he will have to see accurately the saving combo at the very end

I'm afraid there might be a widespread misconception that would explain a lot of the mess in the chess world the last few months: the misconception that Magnus is sane

When Magnus Carlsen namedropped Dlugy, I felt he gave more credence to theories of prep stealing and such, versus Hans cheating. The other interpretations are a) Dlugy should be disciplining his protege b) Dlugy is the cheating assistant, but they're even more far-fetched

There's been a lot of support for the way Magnus Carlsen handled things, "serving chess" and whatever, but let's face it: in hindsight it's clear if he should have left this dirty job to another top-10er. Maybe he was hoping Hans would be caught with something, hasn't happened!

Weird fact of the day: if you actually have a developed chess brain, cheating is actually indistinguishable from training and all those computer lines will actually improve your chess
