The human form, plural, combined in the art of dance to marvel an audience in the Theatre Royal #Waterford last night. The Ukraine Ballet of Peace company gave a beautiful performance of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”.




This evening in Garter Lane Arts Centre WaterfordMusic presented the Ora String Quartet With #InternationalWomensDay they excelled in performing pieces by female composers, including 2023 work by Ailbhe McDonagh (who was present to introduce the playing of “The Lore Quartet”)


On the ball Mario boy! Having spent first 13 years of his life in #Waterford, Mario Rosenstock used local knowledge to hilariously supplement various parodies + satires on stage this evening Theatre Royal Fantastic celebration of 25 years of “Gift Grub”


Excellent piece of theatre this evening in Theatre Royal (+ runs there tomorrow Wednesday 12th) Heaven from Fishamble: The New Play Company with Janet Moran & Andrew Bennett superb as storytellers on stage + Eugene O’ Brien’s script, Jim Culleton’s direction and Zia Bergin-Holly’s lighting etc.


Produced by Waterford College of Further Education in association with Garter Lane Arts Centre Studios and performed by the WCFE 2024/25 class of Theatre and Event Production, Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” was the wonderful thing that theatre is.


The performance space is a basement in Garter Lane Arts Centre Studio buildings and it befits the intensity of “The Dark Room”. Nicola Spendlove is fantastic as the abducted woman. Derek Flynn, as the abductor also inputs powerfully to tables turned and twists and turns.


The amazing energy of the young people involved in cast and crew evident in opening night of Waterford Youth Arts production of “Saba’s Swim” at Garter Lane Arts Centre For National Theatre #connections youth theatre festival, runs Saturday evening too.

Compelling story told with characters impacted by all that went with the Mother and Baby Homes. “Gas Ticket” a powerful watch in Theatre Royal Presented by Rigout Productions, written by Ger Bourke, directed by Jim Nolan and an outstanding performance by Shauna Farrell


Well done Waterford Dramatic Society, 5 sold out nights in Garter Lane Arts Centre with John B Keane’s “Big Maggie” Powerful as commentary, sardonic in humour, great choice for WDS’s 90th anniversary production


The Theatre Royal was sold out, as it and many other venues have been over recent decades whenever there’s a show involving Pat Shortt delivering comedy. With the help of his daughter Faye Shortt Pat carried yet another audience this evening for “Knuckle down”.
