On this day in 2003, Tom Hurndall, a British photography student, and a volunteer for the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), was shot in Gaza by an IOF sniper while trying to save Palestinian children from IOF gunfire. Hurndall died in January 2004 after a 9-month coma.
