I am honoured to have been asked by QUB School of Law to deliver this year's MacDermott lecture in which I'll build on work I've done in CVRO and beyond to ask whether the UK is experiencing democratic decline and, if so, how to arrest it.

Solidarity to Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian, an outstanding academic and intellectual leader whose arrest seriously undermines academic freedom. Her work is exceptional and deserves to be widely read, esp. that on the occupation of the senses and East Jerusalem.
