Our newest classes of 911 call taker and dispatcher trainees had the opportunity to join DC Fire and EMS Department personnel aboard Fireboat 1, the John Glenn. They also visited and toured Kingman and Heritage Islands as they continued their geography ride-alongs.

🎆Tomorrow, fire officials from DC, MD, and VA will gather for a media briefing and live demo on fireworks safety to demonstrate the dangers of handling fireworks ahead of this Fourth of July. The event will be held at the MoCo Public Safety Training Academy at 11:45 a.m.

Hazmat Unit removing Lithium Ion battery that ignited while charging in apartment in 900 block 6th St SW. Fortunately this was minor with no injuries. That’s often not the case with these batteries. Never charge or store where they can block your means of escape if they ignite.
