The stars were in alignment when we signed up for the Southeast Conference on School Climate in Savannah, GA! Phenomenal learning on #MTSS, #SIP, teacher well-being, mental health, yoga, breathing, & mindfulness in schools! These sessions were so affirming! This is what we need!

Wrapping up day 4 @ the Center for Transformative Teaching & Learning Conference hosted by FCPS-MD & the #cttl. Lots of great learning about the brain, #MBE, coaching, & leadership! 🧠👩🏻‍🏫

A pleasant surprise to my learning @ the #CTTL conference this week has been that well-being lives in Mind Brain Education strategies🧘🏻‍♀️🧠 how can we as a system balance stress, reduce cognitive overload, & combine joy & rigor into our teaching and learning? Our teachers need it👩🏻‍🏫

Kicking off the 23-24 SY in the best way; hosting a luncheon for our FCPS_StarSchools New Hires!! The goal: make them feel celebrated, appreciated & welcomed into our Title I schools AND leave with a support system in place! Title I is always the place to be!! 💫 FCPS-MD

A huge shout out to these fabulous Downtown Frederick businesses for their generous donations to support our FCPS_StarSchools New Hires on their 1st day of employment for FCPS-MD 👏🏻🤩 The teachers were so excited to win goodies & to feel appreciated & valued by our community!

Champion the Whole Teacher Class #2! The most unexpected positive outcome from the course has been the connections that staff has built with each other. Friendships & accountability partners to prioritize taking care of US! This is important in a helping profession! 👩🏻‍🏫

Feeling inspired after last nights #fcpsvanguard speaker series w/ Dr. Sirgo! 3 big takeaways- lead from where you are, find the work that makes your ❤️ beat faster, & leaders are always students. I needed to hear this as I’m always reflecting on my own leadership! Thank you! 🙏🏻

The student buy in and learning is REAL @ Butterfly Ridge Elementary! I loved seeing signs of this everywhere in the building! Thanks for the SIP visit Butterfly Ridge Elementary School & Amanda Murphy, CALP! We left feeling inspired and motivated!! 😍👏🏻🔥

Champion the Whole Teacher Class #4! Participants learned about the 9 Attitudes of Mindfulness, including #2 patience & #3 beginners mind. They also got their sweat on w/ Core de Force, a kickboxing class to release stress & tension! 👊🏻Important to work on our bodies & mindsets!

Champion the Whole Teacher Class #5! HES staff practiced yoga & learned about nutrition from our partners at SNAPed. They sorted popular foods by perceived fats & saw how much sugar is in each bottle of soda, as well as saw how US obesity trends are on the rise since 1980 🍎🧘🏻‍♀️

Champion the Whole Teacher Class #6! Shout out to Christina McKeever for being our guest speaker to teach us about the history of yoga, lead us in a yoga practice & guide us to reflect on our own adult sensory needs to self-regulate. Such a powerful and relaxing class! Much needed 🙏🏻🧘🏻‍♀️

Champion the Whole Teacher Class #7! Participants learned about mindful eating, factors to contribute to longevity, & ways to improve our daily diets! What we eat directly impacts our energy levels & our ability to show up whole to teach our students! Ended with a P90X workout 👊🏻

Feeling inspired after First Class Family Engagement mtg. 🤩Community partners networked & shared what they can offer FCPS-MD & community school coordinators shared all that’s being done in our FCPS_StarSchools to engage families & provide wrap around support! Wow 👏🏻
