Blood Tide: James Earl Jones awakens an ancient evil on a Greek island in this strange Euro horror where some of the most terrifying stuff is the acting and velour tracksuits in the heat. Jones enlivens this with a memorably eccentric performance, often randomly quoting Othello.

Waterworld (Ulysses Cut): Kevin Costner's merman tries to find dry land in the legendarily troubled blockbuster, where you nearly feel how exhausting it was to make. Terrific production design and stunts, Dennis Hopper hams it up a treat, but Costner's loner is hard to like.
