This evening I spoke with ITV News Anglia regarding the proposed closure of Luton’s Vauxhall Plant. I know this is difficult news for families and deeply concerning for our town. I will always stick up for our skilled workforce to ensure we can keep good manufacturing jobs in Luton.

Winds, rains and winter conditions are worsening the living situation of children and families in Gaza. UNICEF is supporting them with essential supplies and services for winter, including winter clothes. A ceasefire is absolutely critical now.

The proposed closure of Luton's Vauxhall Plant is deeply concerning for our town. Today, I took the first opportunity to ask the Prime Minister to ensure there is sufficient government support for the automotive sector and importantly, that there are good, skilled jobs in Luton.

My interview on BBC Look East. in spite of the devastating news for Vauxhall families, I end with optimistic note. Luton's history shows that it has successfully reinvented its manufacturing base over the past 200 years and with the airport and other ventures it will do so again.

Central ward councillors Fatima Begum and Yaqub Hanif have been working hard in their ward. They have attended various events and community groups in their wards including on Diwali, organ donation, and cooking sessions at the local Gurdwara. 1/2

Residents shared their various concerns with the councillors, issues including access to GP, getting appointments, and issues with new triage systems which they are working to resolve.
