We're in Tenerife with the 5th year Geology and Physical Geography students at School of GeoSciences @ University of Edinburgh, learning about volcanic deposits from these beautiful fiery action snippets that nature has kept for us! 📒🌋🌎
Tomorrow I'll be giving an Resilience Development Initiative and Institut Teknologi Bandung seminar on the role of earth observation and geospatial data for understanding geohazards and their impacts. Feel free to join online.
Really grateful to join post conference Cities on Volcanoes 12 fieldtrip to Santiago de Atitlán with Ixchel Project. Today we're lucky to hear directly from the abuelo-abuelas about the community around the Lake Atitlán, the volcanoes, and the issues they face due to changing landscape.
This week we are in Lake Atitlán on a post- #CoV12 trip.
On Day 0, we arrived in Santiago Atitlán after crossing the Lake, and learned about embroidering with some of our local partners.
