I have a family of the phenixes. So many times they killed us and prosecuted us and we still as Maya says: we still rise. But I don’t endorse this institution as the savior. It has problems. JD Vance should stop being a mulla about it.

Hi Technical Community and I*s in specific. Can we just wrap up the show about gender diversity? You don’t elect women and you don’t appoint them to leadership roles. All I am saying is that I am not gonna waste time talking about your gender diversity efforts.

APNIC’s new CEO, a man. ICANN’s, a man. APNIC foundation, a man. The rest are all men except ISOC’s. APNIc Foundation had a female interim ED but they didn’t pick her. ICANN didnt either. So I am tired of attending your theaters about gender inclusion. You have serious issues.

Last time someone in an IETF chat said sadly gender diversity is lacking and I said yeah I don’t think there is genuine sadness about not including women here. And some other dude decided to invoke an RFC on me which was about being rude or something. Your feelings are hurt?

In the case of Brazil blocking X, I am not gutting the principles of keeping the Internet global and interoperable. This is not about whether a “global majority” country processes are democratic or not. This is about challenging these decisions and upholding those principles.

Here is another “trust and safety” measure that affects Internet infrastructure. “The communications minister says the public domain name service redirection aims to block harmful websites, which some internet service providers still allow access.” freemalaysiatoday.com/category/natio…

Since I became a citizen, I am looking at endless possibilities… one is to move to Fiji, another is to join the police force and defend encryption!

Jawboning pales in comparison to what France and Brazil have been doing these days. Read this blog about jawboning and what should be done in the new administration about it. (I might have missed it but I would have put more emphasis on transparency) lawfaremedia.org/article/a-jawb…

Why the surge to blocking and filtering at Internet infrastructure layer for trust and safety reason is bad? Here is another document by SSAC in 2012 that tells you what technical issues it can raise for the network operators: itp.cdn.icann.org/en/files/secur…
