A critical review of the National Strategic Plan on AMR identified key priorities to be included in the next NSP on AMR for 2025-2030. Thanks to the #One Health Approach leading to multi-sectoral stakeholder engagement (MAF, MOH, UHS, NCLE, CP Farm, #FAO ECTAD and WOAH)

Dr Anica Buckel, Behavioural Scientist at FAO HQ, made courtesy visit to Lao PDR to ensure the broiler farmer field school’s milestones achieve timely and successfully. The project aimed to improve biosecurity, good practices and poultry farm profit, while controlling AMR/AMU.

FAO ECTAD and WHO supported Department of Livestock and Fisheries to strengthen livestock producers and local government officers in Vientiane Capital and Vientiane Province to be aware of negative impact caused by AMR, while acting as change agents and AMR reduction ambassadors.

Department of Livestock and Fisheries, supported by USAID through FAO ECTAD, successfully conducted a recovery mission in 121 villages of 8 affected provinces impacted by Typhoon Yagi in Lao PDR, to treat injured animals, prevent disease outbreaks and rebuild food security.
