The PS chaired the Joint Justice and corrections program technical steering committee meeting attended by all actors including, Justice Sector Institutions, UNDP, UNTMIS, and donors to review the progress made and propose and discuss the annual workplan for 2025.

Joined H.E Minister Hassan in welcoming the Italian Ambassador, H. E. Pier Mario Daccò Coppi to MOJCA with the aim to handover to the Minister, a digital archive, in Italian and Somali language, containing the laws and official bulletins published in Somalia between 1950 and1989.

Had a productive meeting with the UNICEF Somalia team today to discuss our 2025 work plans and priorities. Excited to strengthen our cooperation and collaboration to create lasting impact for children and communities and creating child-friendly justice system in Somalia.

Today, a three-day consultation focusing on Chapters 5-9 of the Provisional Constitution has begun, bringing together key government agencies at both levels, alongside representatives from oversight committees of parlaiment. A vital step in shaping our constitutional future!

Following the official opening of the inter-ministerial quarterly meeting on Children in Armed Conflict by the Minister of Desense, I successfully chaired the critical discussions that followed. The meeting was attended by DGs, high-level gov. officials, and UN representatives.

Today, we had the privilege of hosting a UNOPS team at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to discuss the implementation plan for the SJGAP ICT project. During this meeting, we discussed the project's timeframe, key milestones, and the governance structure.

Had a productive bi-weekly meeting today with our departmental directors and senior advisors. We discussed key updates on ministry operations, ongoing activities, and progress. Great teamwork as we continue working towards enhancing justice and constitutional affairs.

Today I had the honour of opening the launch of a Heritage Institute paper on Rule of Law & Judicial Independence in Somalia, and later joined a panel to discuss pathways to a fair, independent justice system. Grateful for the rich dialogue.

I officially opened the training program on Dynamic Security & Rehabilitation/Reintegration for the Somali Custodial Corps, in collaboration with UNODC & UNTMIS, facilitated by experts from Sweden, Kenya & Finland. Selected officers also received ToT for sustainability.
