⁦Doheny Gaa⁩ lost the junior county hurling final to Glen Rovers in 1924. Two years later Glen were up playing senior hurling where they remained until tonight when they were relegated by Kanturk after 97 years. A sad night for a proud club.

The 5 Year Plan for Cork Football has the rigid enforcement of a fixtures calendar as a ‘high priority’ yet the Senior A final is not only fixed 4 weeks on from the semi, but refixed to 5 weeks out to accommodate hurling. Football still the poor relation Cork GAA

Well done to all the boys & girls from the schools in Sam Maguire Area. Over 200 kids from 1st to 4th class took part in a mixed school blitz, which was organised by the Club & GDA James Mc Carthy.
