❓What works (& what doesn't) on #AI -focused software architectures?
Fabiane Bizinella Nardon, Data Scientist & CTO @tail_oficia, is hosting a track at #QConLondon (April 8-10, 2024), to explore the latest trends for building modern architectures for AI systems: bit.ly/3SbTSGz
Ian Thomas Fabiane Bizinella Nardon One of the surprising factors here is that garbage collection is generally more efficient than manual memory management (because work can be deferred and batched, exposing economies of scale.) But this is counterintuitive because you can 'see' the pauses.
Ian Thomas Fabiane Bizinella Nardon BTW, the use of the term 'close to' suggests you think that a managed language can't _beat_ C. This is also false; there are cases where Java can and does beat C. C may be the speed of light in physics, but it's not the upper bound in PL performance.

It is one of the reasons, why I am not looking more into rust :-)
Very proud of my fellow Brazilians Loiane Groner and Camilla. Falconi. e Crispim for putting together these amazing tracks at #QConLondon
“Leave your comfort zone”, Свен Реймерс 🇪🇺❤️🇺🇦💪🏼 on how to be a lifelong software developer at #QConLondon
At #QconLondon , Loiane Groner showing how you can have a long technical career in a non-tech company. Yes, you can be a successful Staff+ Engineer if you don’t work for a Big Tech.
🤓 I finally get to deep dive into #PsychologicalSafety for #StaffPlus #engineers
So looking forward to this, and thank you, Fabiane Bizinella Nardon and QCon London Software Development Conference, for having me! 🙌
