When I had 2 strokes at age 5 doctors were having a hard time believing it too. They are taught "if you hear hooves, it's a horse, not a zebra" – the zebras die because of it. Having your life in the hands of people like this is horrific. ctvnews.ca/health/article…

This year will mark the five year anniversary of Floyd’s murder & I cannot understate how much hasn’t changed. How many insincere commitments were made. I just want to make it clear that an uprising is on the horizon, & I it’s funny how people move as if it would be the last.

Pathologizing people who are still actively avoiding catching (and spreading) Covid is the ultimate DARVO. They have to make us look mentally unwell, bc otherwise they’d have to take accountability for all of the death and disability they’ve caused. Stay strong.

Besides, @potus & Secretary Kennedy said our environment is full of dangerous things that are actually causing all this illness we used to blame on viruses, so why the hell wouldn't I mask to avoid exposure to them? 🙃

President Donald J. Trump Secretary Kennedy I'm unhoused with immune deficiency from SARS-CoV-2. I'll never paywall my writing, but I do appreciate donations to allow me to keep doing it. If you enjoy my threads, you can tip here or via ko-fi.com/froglet80 🙏

I was forced to perceive this Ted Talk and wish to be compensated for my time, this is fatphobic ableist antiblack trash. Peddle that shit somewhere else, please.

Important distinction between "I am disabled" and "I am disabled and forced to rely on legislated destitution." Because the first group often doesn't know a thing about the other group. This is why class is important in disability discussions.

Sarah Colero (@sarah_colero) 's Twitter Profile Photo

There is no "cheap housing" or "everything for free" when you are disabled. These are lies that are meant to sway public opinion into thinking that people in legislated destitution have it made. In reality things are more expensive for us, not less. We incur more expenses too.

You can't convince me doctors aren't like cops when this is the way they respond to a colleague asking how to treat someone with a complex medical condition They aren't being paid to make patients healthy. Their job is to gatekeep health for the "unworthy".

That old black lady said to the police several times Jeffrey Dahmer was a murderer even called the cops when she saw a naked Asian boy running out his apartment and the police responded saying if she keeps bothering them they’ll have her in jail for the night

What is lost on some but not I, a cultural worker in NYC, is that the MET GOBBLES up a lot of the public funds for cultural affairs, rendering the people making Black art in this city fighting for crumbs and leftovers. $30 million dollars guaranteed by the city every year.

Everybody else has to write extensive grants with lavish “deliverables” in order to receive pennies while harboring stolen artifacts through colonialism and slavery gets millions. It pays to be a tool of empire.

Andrew Viñales (@fogoav) 's Twitter Profile Photo

To be clear the Met doesn’t NEED this funding to operate. Full stop. Only 10 percent of their budget comes from a big chunk of what some local institutions struggle to even dream of. And there are political reasons leading with “whose art” and “whose public” and “whose archives”
