While I appreciate the clarification from Fred, am I the only one who still feels like all Lewis did was suggest that he may let Charles by? Ferrari then ran with it and without confirmation made Charles think he was imminently letting him by, but by then Lewis was catching up?

McLaren have micromanaged every bit of this championship. They have WDC and WCC locked in. Stop over engineering and let them race.

If McLaren hadn’t been letting Lando call the shots to begin with this wouldn’t have happened at all! It’s just tough to see Lando struggle every week, making mistakes and losing spots at every start and still getting the preferential treatment. Just pathetic.

When Sir Lewis Hamilton was asked about 'legacy' last month: "[Legacy is] not what I focus on... today, I think differently. There have been so many great drivers; every era has always had its No. 1, so it matters less to me today. What I focus on is what I can contribute

Lewis is getting more comfortable and closing the gap to Charles. At the start Charles didn’t even attempt a move on Lando & went straight to cover Lewis. Lewis got ahead of him & he played dirty to get back ahead. Charles clearly feeling threatened.

Lewis was not even guaranteed a seat in 2025, much less 2026 with Mercedes. I hate the narrative that he just up and chose to leave. He had to leave to guarantee a drive for himself in the future.

At a point this season Oscar was 34 points ahead of Lando, 10 more than Lando is ahead now. Lando not only did not enter a support role, but McLaren actively undermined Oscar’s lead & made him give up points due to team mistakes. He should never acquiesce to them again.

“when you’ve excelled as much as Lewis Hamilton has it must be hard in these moments to remember that you are the GOAT, you are the greatest and…he is still Lewis Hamilton, he is still 7x world champion, and he is still the greatest driver we’ve ever seen in this sport”

McLaren is so pathetic!!! At one point after the summer break Oscar was 34 points ahead. Had they prioritized him then, the title would be wrapped up. Even today, they could have pitted Lando under safety car and wrapped it up today! Suffering from their own success.

The way Max’s season is mirroring Lewis’s 2022 season is crazy.. losing last year’s championship in the last race and starting new regulations only to hate the cars and lose to your teammate. Poetic!
