Ugh, this terp was great but every time there was a pause, like the nurse using the comp., he'd pull out his phone and browse. Annoying AF. He also could not stand still, constantly shifting and leaning on things. I felt bad, it likely was due to weight, but very distracting.

I am going to very deeply miss the quality of interpreters when I move. I am in a very high deaf area and there are many interpreters here, easy to get, and they are skilled. White interpreters do not dominate either, unlike every other place I have lived.

All I can say is I am so relieved I know and can use ASL. I can't talk and having an alternative that is smooth and easy (easier than speech and lipreading) has been essential to me.

Oh and that paramedic assaulted me because I'm deaf. She knew I couldn't understand her so she wanted to tell me I don't need the mask, by showing me.

So, is it assault if a paramedic starts ripping off your mask and tells you that Covid is over and you don't need it?
