UNEC students launch massive protest, shuts down school gate over extortion by the School authorities. These students were stopped from writing their semester exams. They have paid school fees are now asked to pay extra N30k for Development levy.

Ongoing protest at University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) by medical students over alleged extra ₦30,000 development fee imposed by the school authorities.

A peaceful protest took place today at our campus, led by Medical and Health Sciences students. The protest was against the imposed ₦30,000 development fee and the decision to stop students from writing exams unless the fee is paid. Students gathered to express their concerns.

Unec medical students acted like engineering people yesterday. I always thought that medical students and lawyers are complete gentlemen. UNN needs to look into the extortion happening at the medical department.

Allegedly, So they allowed us to write last semester without paying a damn developmental levy. Now you increase our school fees by 104%. Wtf. How much do our sister Federal Universities in the South East pay eg. UNIZIK, FUTO. State Universities like ESUT pay lesser.
