A group of students at Mexico's most important university -- the UNAM in Mexico City -- have decided to erect an encampment beginning Thursday to try to pressure the government to break ties with Israel. This, of course, takes inspiration from the protests happening in the USA.

Police at UT Austin deploys either pepper spray or some other chemical to crowd. Students disperse for a moment but continue blocking the vans.

I'm outside Columbia University where tensions abruptly escalated today after campus officials said they will not divest from companies doing business in Israel and set an ultimatum for students to leave the proPalestinian encampment by 2pm. Students have said they will not go. NPR
