Forbes: he has a beard but not a big beard. Hasan: “so he actually didn’t match suspect description? He was a brown man with facial hair, applies to literally hundreds of thousands of people in the GTA” Forbes agrees says it was 1 of many reasons they were going to talk to him

Forbes says her intention was not to arrest the man. She said her guard was up but she wasn’t thinking “this was my guy”. She said her threat level was “be aware” but when she saw woman and child “my threat level was further down”. Now defence is asking about how she approached

Defence says she rushed over to Zameer’s vehicle. Forbes: I disagree I didn’t rush over. We walked towards the vehicle Defence: casually? Forbes: with purpose we weren’t sauntering it we were walking with a destination

Hasan now says yesterday Forbes said when she approached Zameer, she introduced herself as police. Hasan says to Forbes “I’m going to suggest that was an outright lie. You didn’t casually walk over. You rushed over” Forbes disagrees. She says her intent was to speak to the ppl

Hasan says Forbes answer about not rushing over to Zameer’s vehicle is “revisionist history”. Shows her transcript from July 2, 2021 where she said vehicle was running and she said “I know we were in a bit of a hurry to get up”. Zameer’s car was getting ready to leave

Hasan continues to suggest Forces was rushing towards the vehicle and says she didn’t great them with “hi, police” before showing them their badge. Hasan: that’s not how it happened Forbes: incorrect Hasan: you were much more aggressive than that Forbes: incorrect

We’re back Hasan suggests Zameer was already in his car when Forbes reached it. She disagrees. “I’m going to suggest ma’am that you were far more aggressive than what you suggest. When he immediately didn’t comply to roll down the window, you banged on the window”

Forbes said she banged on the window when the car lurched forward. she wasn’t sure if it was her palm or her writer’s palm. Jury sees photos of her hand print on driver’s side window. We see front window. Hands smears on window. Says she hit the front window when car moving

Hasan: you felt it was necessary to slap the car? Forbes: the car was lurching forward. I was trying to indicate to the driver to stop. Hasan: you can see why they might have been scared? Forbes: there was no reason for them to be alarmed. Says she wanted to speak to them

Hasan is now asking about the 5 manoeuvers Forbes indicated the car made. “I’m going to suggest it’s another embellishment. I’m going to suggest there were only three.” Says car went forward, reversed and then forward again. Forbes shakes her head. “No there was more”.

We took a brief recess after being shown what Hasan says is new video from the parkade that Hasan says will show that there were only 3 movements of the vehicle. Forbes broke down on the stand in tears. Judge offered Forbes a break. Now we’re back. Looking at the video again.

Hasan suggests Northrup was already on the ground when the car advanced forward the second time. “She (Forbes) said he was standing on his feet, had his arms raised when he was struck. Is it possible you are embellishing the whole thing because you feel bad about what happened?”

Asks if she’s aware crown’s accident reconstructionist said Northrup was already on the ground when the SUV went forward? He was knocked down when car reversed. Forbes says she has distinct memory of Northrup standing in front of car with arms raised and she let out a scream

Crown attorney Karen Simone now re-examining Lisa Forbes. Simone says it was suggested by Hasan that you rushed over to the Zameer vehicle based on a previous statement saying “they were in a bit of a hurry”. She points to later in transcripts where she said “we were walking ..”

Simone is finished with her re-examination. Madam Justice Anne Molloy tells jury there are no further witnesses today and the jury is excused. They are told to return on Monday.
