Friday night I spoke at the Liverpool Left event Climate is a Class Issue. It was inspiring to speak to and hear from people in working class communities, similar to my own, about what climate justice means to them.

Then I headed to Crewe where there have been some great local climate campaigners - I heard from them and answered questions, then did some campaigning with my amazing pal and colleague @LauraSmithMP

And tonight, I've just spoken at the #NotMyPM rally outside Downing Street - to join the people and say that Boris Johnson is not welcome as our PM, we need a General Election now. The many are being failed by the Tory Government - it's time for change.

To conclude: people are amazing, people keep hope alive. Labour is a people powered movement. It's the fantastic people all over our country who will get #BorisOut & will put Jeremy Corbyn in No10 as the real peoples PM. And it is the people who inspire me to keep doing this job.

I know we all knew it was coming and it’s trite to say but it still feels crushing. A heap of privilege and a vacuum in morals is leader of the country. How utterly heartbreaking.

I watched half in bemusement, half amusement when London elected Mayor Boris Johnson in 2008. His journey to the Tory leadership & PM has looked far more inevitable & I’ve stopped seeing the funny side. In years to come, I think we’ll view this as a shameful stain on our country.
