Bad luck, Hastings, and other seaside resorts hoping to attract back French school groups. The new government looks set to double down on the Brexit ban on ID cards and make it impossible for school groups to travel here without passports from April 2025. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

Why do people think we went into the Single Market in the first place? It made plain economic sense. The UK just went mad in 2016 and we still can't admit it.

Today G4S at Department for Business and Trade finally responded to our pay claim They refused to negotiate & made a thinly veiled legal threat All under the nose of Jonathan Reynolds. Do you think this is appropriate behaviour in your department? The strike ballot opens on Monday. Tick tock.

No hope on the horizon for the security, cleaning and facilities staff at Department for Business and Trade as Jonathan Reynolds maintains a 2-tier workforce and so far refuses to #MakeWorkPay in his own department The change our members who work for him want to see is better pay & conditions

This looks like no compensation for 50s born women over state pension age rises which was recommended by Ombudsman. The problem is Emma is in two depts. The DWP under-sec may want to pay but the Treasury Parly Sec (who outranks) says no!

Graham Lancaster Paul Lewis Emma Reynolds for Wycombe 🌹 Keir Starmer State pension age changes affect all women born from 1950 onwards. 1950s born women are the least affected, with those born in later decades having higher state pension ages. You really should do some research before posting.

Paul Lewis Janet Jones ⚖️#50sWomen #CEDAWinLaw🎯♀️51% 💙 It’s what was done to 50’s women that needs to be addressed. In no walk of life is this acceptable from government ministers/MP’s the sheer vindictiveness of Iain Duncan- Smith is disgraceful. And the taking of contributions from the workforce is dishonest.

The BBC political editor (260K pa) thinks it's a story that the Downing Street chief of staff (170K pa) earns more than the PM (167Kpa). Welcome to political journalism! PS Laura Kuenssberg is on 325K, Nick Robinson 340K and Fiona Bruce even more. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

What a ludicrous story bit.ly/3ZtJdec Apart from the fact that many of those reporting on it are paid more to write about the people who run the country than the ones who actually run it! They should be explaining the political reasons why the UK PM is paid so little!

Imo there is great potential for a new railway branch linking the airport, westpoint arena, Creally and the planned employment growth next to Creally. Having it there available as soon as people move in is going to make transport habits sustainable from the beginning.
