It's actually pretty on point for him imo. Mizi is not only very emotionally open, but also extremely cheery. For a person who sees life through more utilitarian perspective (& pessimistic let's be honest) it can be extremely exhausting to be in the presence of people like Mizi+

So the kids ARE taught a heteronormative mindset and hold some degree of gender and sexuality bias. This is huge. Considering most of the cast is canonically LGBT+ or questioning, this means they did have to navigate same-sex attraction with some difficulties...
