"For many decades claims have been made that quantitative genetics was dead or dying but, condescendingly, perhaps still useful until the contents of the black box were revealed, a feat which would be ‘just round the corner’. " - William G. Hill nature.com/articles/s4158…

This is a great moment for the FarmGTEx project. Our pilot CattleGTEx work is online in Nature Genetics now. The new phase of CattleGTEx is starting now. Please contact if you are interested in. Together we build a comphensive FarmGTEx atlas!

Yao, Liu, Charley Xia, Gao, Pan, Liu, Lingzhao Fang, Albert Tenesa & co compare the transcriptomes of human and cattle from 20 tissues. Much about expression, including eQTLs, are conserved between the species. Heritability is higher for conserved genes genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

How cool is that, the CattleGTEx paper has made the Nature Genetics cover😎. Current issue contains both, research briefing on paper and FarmGTEx 🧑‍🌾🧬🐄🐷🐔more broadly (nature.com/articles/s4158…) and the paper itself (nature.com/articles/s4158…)

It is soooo cool to see that the CattleGTEx made Nature Genetics Cover! Welcome to join the next phase of CattleGTEx. Please contact [email protected] for more details. The FarmGTEx website (farmgtex.org) will be online soon.

I am so thrilled to share our PigGTEx resource, as part of the FarmGTEx project. Here we provide the first comprehensive atlas of regulatory variants (e.g., eQTL) across 34 tissues in pigs, and show its importance in studying complex trait genetics and human biomedicine.

The🐷GTEx is here. Regulatory variants (eQTLs, sQTLs and more) across 34 tissues in pigs and lots of follow-on analyses. Great work from the FarmGTEx consortium led by Lingzhao Fang.
