Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas. I am approaching this with anthropological precision. Here are a few observations.

It blows my mind that despite the bombings and the blackouts, Kyiv is as beautiful as ever. We went to the most amazing Christmas market and I'm happy to report, Christmas is in fact all around We paid for one extra Christmas tree and left a note from our family... Day 5 - 🌲✔️
