What a start! MAGic-MOLFUN KickOff meeting at DTU Biosustain with the PhD students and their supervisors. Great introduction to the team, the individual PhD projects and our first workshop on #socialmedia with Mike Young Academy. And a visit to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Great talk by Nadine Ziemert on Exploring the Untapped Chemical Diversity of Bacterial Specialized Metabolites. Always nice to hear and dive deep in the world of BGCs. #cmfi2023

Finally, after eight years in the making one of my favorite stories is out today. We predicted the ancient glycopeptide antibiotic and were able to actually resurrect it 🪦 Congrats Martina Adamek, Demi, Evi Stegmann Functional Metabolomics Lab and others rdcu.be/dsjGV

Happy to share our brandnew paper on the first natural product beta-lactone ClpP inhibitors. They bind covalently, inhibit virulence and gave beautiful co-crystal structures with ClpPs from all three domains of life. Thanks Groll, Kaysser, Sieber, Grond labs for excellent work !!
