I started the day by finally having a homemade hot cross bun. It only took three attempts and one elapsed month. Also, too light on spice and currants (thanks child #1 for no currants). Definitely a quality driven project.

I set myself a “backstop” alarm this morning for 7am as I’m not working. Turns out I didn’t need that as the husband decided to double check I was still in bed at 4:30am by patting me (and thus waking me up). 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It’s a worthy final! As much as I love a Pret Pain Au Chocolate, this is all about the crumpet. Child #2 and I restocked the Read HQ crumpets earlier as they were at dangerously low levels. M&S are our favourites 😋😋

Child #2 and I picked up a new game today. It’s quite fun (and nicely made, with zero plastic too!)

I can confirm that this is exactly what it’s like to parent an inquisitive child who asks you constant questions - but only when you’re trying to concentrate or get the whole family out of the house.

Reminds me of the time 60% of our party came home with norovirus from Center Parcs. Most virulent bug I’ve ever experienced. It has put me off savoury pizza for life.

This is one of the reasons why a 4 hour train journey is better than 3.5 hours (or maybe 5) of driving.

Travelling with an ADHD teen is fun. Waiting for 5 mins to be let on the train was torturous. In other news, we shared a bed and she only kicked me twice (a significant decrease over the years). Now, Premier Inn breakfast or not?

Me to husband: you ruin the fun of snow at home.
Husband to me: if you had to deal with snow on your laptop while you’re trying to work you’d probably dislike it too.
