At the 2023 NRA convention, Donald Trump promised to be the NRA’s “loyal friend and fearless champion.” This year, he’s not even showing up. #NRAConvention thehill.com/homenews/campa…

These cuts put the safety of our communities at risk and will cost lives. Thank you, Brandon M. Scott, for your steadfast leadership to reduce gun violence. As a co-chair of #MayorsAgainstIllegalGuns, Mayor Scott has always made public safety a top priority.

After I was shot, I went and interned for the director of the ATF Washington . Together I helped put together the faces of gun violence display, to remind the brave people at the ATF who the fight for. I’m gutted to hear they have taken it down. #GunViolencePrevention #ATF #Gov

"I've never heard one student say that the solution is more guns. I've never heard one student say to me, 'Well, if we just had our teachers armed, I would feel a lot safer,'" von Haefen said. HB 193 is a dangerous bill that will put more guns in our schools. #Enough Moms Demand Action

Lives are on the line. Community Violence Intervention (CVI) is proven to save lives—but federal funding is being slashed. We can’t stay silent. Tomorrow, we’re rising up to demand action. Join us and tell Congress: Fund CVI now! #ProtectCVI #CVIDayOfAction

At a time when Republicans are taking health care and food away from millions of Americans, they are spending $1.4 billion dollars to make firearm silencers cheaper. This makes our communities less safe and makes it harder for law enforcement to do their jobs.

Rep. Steven Horsford (@rephorsford) 's Twitter Profile Photo

While we’re fighting to protect Medicaid, Republicans are making it cheaper to buy gun silencers. Just hang a sign that says “we don’t care about our constituents.”

This is absurd! Buried in the 400-page bill, dropped late Monday and debated in an all nighter last night, is a $1.4 billion dollar cut in the fees to buy and register a silencer!! This provision has been in place since 1934 and now they want to sneak this change in. Please

Chris Murphy 🟧 (@chrismurphyct) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2/ A hidden provision of the bill...wait for it...legalizes gun silencers!! What?? So now criminals will be able to hide their crimes and police will lose the ability to respond to mass shootings. WTF. reuters.com/world/us/us-re…

Republicans now want to make it cheaper and easier for the next mass shooter to buy a gun silencer by eliminating a $200 tax on their purchase as part of Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill." politico.com/news/2025/05/1…

Congressman Gerry Connolly was a true gun sense champion, proudly standing against the gun lobby and fighting for safer communities. We’re thankful for his leadership and steadfast commitment to gun violence prevention. He will be greatly missed.

Republicans are pushing a tax bill full of handouts and one of the worst? Eliminating the $200 tax on gun silencers that has been on the books since 1934. My district has lived through a mass shooting. Republicans should be working to end gun violence, not encouraging it.

Congressman Jared Moskowitz (@repmoskowitz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The GOP’s “big beautiful bill” repeals a tax on gun silencers that’s been on the books for over 90 years. So while House Republicans are driving up the costs of healthcare and doing nothing to stop Trump’s tariffs, don’t worry - they’re lowering costs at the gun store!

Hadiya’s loved ones started Wear Orange, and now, the color has become a beacon for action against gun violence. Today, I introduced the Wear Orange Resolution to honor Hadiya and recognize June as Gun Violence Awareness Month with Senator Dick Durbin & Tammy Duckworth:

One in five Americans say they've lost a loved one to gun violence. This is simply unacceptable. We must act to protect our communities.
