At a time when Republicans are taking health care and food away from millions of Americans, they are spending $1.4 billion dollars to make firearm silencers cheaper. This makes our communities less safe and makes it harder for law enforcement to do their jobs.

Republicans are pushing a tax bill full of handouts and one of the worst? Eliminating the $200 tax on gun silencers that has been on the books since 1934. My district has lived through a mass shooting. Republicans should be working to end gun violence, not encouraging it.

The GOP’s “big beautiful bill” repeals a tax on gun silencers that’s been on the books for over 90 years. So while House Republicans are driving up the costs of healthcare and doing nothing to stop Trump’s tariffs, don’t worry - they’re lowering costs at the gun store!
