I’ve been told BYU shouldn’t be in the playoffs because of a 22-point loss to No. 5 Texas Tech. But it’s a disservice to the sport if Texas isn’t in despite three losses, including a 25-point smackdown to Georgia and a loss to three-win Florida? Talk about moving the goalposts.

Seems like everyone is waking up to the reality that these 16-18 team conferences kinda suck. They create all kinds of scheduling imbalances and weird conference championship game scenarios.

Texas Tech plays BYU for a freaking conference title on Saturday. I should be feeling hate for them flow through my veins. Instead I'm mad on their behalf because ESPN is ruining this sport every chance they get.
